As I was saying, I discovered and got addicted to Instagram last weekend. It's this iPhone app that lets you manipulate photos into looking cool enough to share with random people in the world wide web. You take a seemingly drab shot, blur some parts out, add a filter of your choice, et voilà- awesomeness.
If only everything else came as easy. I'd love to be able to blur some things out, just like that. Place the focus on the good parts and ignore the rest. Put on some filters to make everything look prettier than it originally was.
Reality takes more work, I guess. There isn't an app that lets you tweak your world as easily. There's a longer process. Harder, too. You just have to keep at it, keep looking for the right point of focus, work on blurring the unnecessary stuff, figure out the best filter. Eventually, you'll get that awesome picture, ready to be shared with the rest of the world.
